Unframed. This is a life-sized original pressing of a Adirondack’s Smallmouth Bass caught by our good friends Harper & Josh at their family’s camp that they’ve been going to for years. It’s been a staple memory and moment to look forward to for them and when they caught this football of a bass they called to see if it was possible for me to Gyotaku.

Everything worked out perfectly for them to preserve and keep it fresh to bring home for me to press back in Salisbury, Maryland. One of my moral pillars and reasons for doing Gyotakus is that nothing goes to waste, it’s an additional form of appreciating the fish’s life, its journeys, and all the moments surrounding its story up to that point.

To Harper & Josh, I’m sure this reminds them of the time they got to escape the world, enjoy some rejuvenating time in the woods and on the water, adventure time in the boat, catching this studly fish, and so much more…

To me, I’m reminded of; the warm unconditional care and support that’s possible to get from family & friends, doing what you can to show them they’re a priority, and coloring this during my short visit with my family in North Carolina for the holidays.
