Description
These 8×10″ Oyster Gyotakus are made from oysters that have a very special memory, and piece of Eastern Shore Culture pressed into them.
Camden Thank You for sharing these oysters you harvested from the Choptank River in Maryland. He initially got one of my Oyster Gyotakus to gift to his Dad who is also a Waterman. We met in Cambridge, Maryland and he had some oysters in the back of his truck that he’d freshly harvested. He told me he’s on the water pretty much all year on a workboat. During those winter months he’s out oystering, but when the weather and water warm up, they’re crabbing and captaining fishing charters. Young Watermen like yourself are the next generation stewards of the Eastern Shore, thanks for dedicating yourself to the rhythms and cycles of the Chesapeake Bay.
