Description

Original hand painted & life-sized pressing of a freshwater Crappie. I targeted and caught this particular fish for an after-school program at Fruitland Primary with a group of kindergarten, first, and second graders. They spent the week learning about the history, traditions, and techniques of Gyotaku and got to finish the week together with me to see how to paint and press a real fish!

The main lesson of the day was the importance of trying! Not being afraid to fail and looking forward to the opportunities to learn and grow.
