Original life-sized painted pressing of a Pompano that I caught in February of 2025 in Grand Isle, Louisiana. This is the first Pompano I’ve ever caught, let alone painted and pressed.
Every year my Dad and I try and take some quiet time together and visit some of his college and Army ROTC friends in Louisiana. This time we got to visit our good friend Jim Smith, who took us to his “camp” in Grand Isle, LA. The winds were too strong to get on the boat, so we fished the bayous. I caught this one on a Carolina rig with a fresh shrimp. This is definitely top 5 favorite fish to eat 🙂
