Description
Mrs. Wood invited me to her high school art classes to teach her students about the history of Gyotaku and some general entrepreneurial concepts. I brought a variety of local oysters for everyone to practice pressing and Mrs. Wood had this giant replica scallop shell for the students to try their hand at. She could see that I was clearly pretty excited about it and said I could take it home to add to my collection.
These Scallop Gyotakus will always remind me of all the great teachers out there who go great lengths, and well beyond their job descriptions, to pull up for their students to invest in and actualize their potential.
